Verse 1:
In the quiet of the night, he whispers her name,
With tender fingers, he brushes her hair,
His touch is like a feather, igniting the flame,
In those gentle moments, the world feels fair.

Chorus:
But oh, how the light can fade all too fast,
When kindness drifts away, and shadows are cast,
She longs for the love that felt so pure,
Yet fear grips her heart, as pain turns to sure.

Verse 2:
In a whirlwind of rage, he loses his way,
A tempest of anger, he shatters the peace,
With hands that once soothed, now they betray,
As she’s thrown across the bed, her heart’s lease.

Chorus:
But oh, how the light can fade all too fast,
When kindness drifts away, and shadows are cast,
She longs for the love that felt so pure,
Yet fear grips her heart, as pain turns to sure.

Bridge:
Can love wear two faces, one soft, one fierce?
Can tenderness and fury in one heart be pierced?
With every stroke of sweetness, there lies a dark truth,
That the man who caresses her is lost in his youth.

Verse 3:
Her hair falls like whispers, in clumps on the floor,
She begs him to leave what he doesn’t understand,
For the act of their passion brings her to war,
The gentle caress is too close to the hand.

Chorus:
But oh, how the light can fade all too fast,
When kindness drifts away, and shadows are cast,
She longs for the love that felt so pure,
Yet fear grips her heart, as pain turns to sure.

Outro:
In the silence that lingers, she wrestles with fate,
Loving two men, their essences collide,
In the gentle embrace where the heart learns to wait,
And the same hands that soothe, can cut deep inside.

About "Tangled Hearts"
  • Song Idea:

Write a ballad / love song about a woman in love with a man who brushes her hair before love making. He is gentle , loving and kind and this intimacy is her favourite thing about being with this man.
This man at other times is violent. He rages and hurts the woman. But what breaks her heart the most is he pulls her hair. She cries as it comes out in clumps afterwards. She’s begged him to leave her hair but he doesn’t see the significance of the act.
She cannot comprehend how these two men are one and the same. How the man who gently, lovingly tends to the woman’s long hair one day is the same man who throws her across the bed by it the next.
