Verse 1:
Boy from the Ozarks, life in the dark, where the meth sparks
Night falls hard, echoes of the past, houses collapsing fast
Broken homes and shattered bones, mama’s tears fall alone
Wind stole our hope, cash blowing in the smoke, feeling so low

Chorus:
Ozark wills, trying to climb these hills
Through the pain and the chills, boy got dreams to fulfill
Ozark wills, fighting through the spills
Music heals, chasing notes, break the chains, free wills

Verse 2:
Brother’s eyes red, family drowned in a crystal bed
Police at the door, knocked down to the floor, cry no more
Survival game, only thing that keeps me sane, my vocal strain
Words as my shield, this talent field, planting rhymes to yield

Chorus:
Ozark wills, trying to climb these hills
Through the pain and the chills, boy got dreams to fulfill
Ozark wills, fighting through the spills
Music heals, chasing notes, break the chains, free wills

Bridge:
Ain’t no fairy tale, yet I pen these lines like a trail
To escape this jail, melodies rising like we’ll prevail
Mama’s tears dry, future’s sky, aiming high
Notes soar like a hymn, never dim, I’m reaching for the brim

Verse 3:
Constructing beats, my refuge in these streets, fire in the sheets
Every chord, strumming hope aboard, no space to hoard
Seeing beyond these hills, chasing better thrills, peace fills
Lyrics in my chest, no time for rest, success manifest

Chorus:
Ozark wills, trying to climb these hills
Through the pain and the chills, boy got dreams to fulfill
Ozark wills, fighting through the spills
Music heals, chasing notes, break the chains, free wills

Outro:
From the meth storm, rose a willpower transformed
In every bar and note, a lifeline afloat, visions wrote
Eyes on the stars, leaving behind scars, guitars
Breaking free from the dark, every lyric a spark, Ozark wills embark

About "Ozark Wills"
  • Song Idea:

The song is called “Ozark Wills” a play on Ozark hills. It is about growing up in rural Missouri being broke and around a lot of crime and drugs, especially meth. It is also about using music as an escape from all of that. At this time my entire family were users, I lived in a drug house, and soon after that we lost our home. I remember watching my mom cry one time because the wind blew away a few hundred dollars.
